What Is Ludo Board Game?

A strategy board game for two to four players, where players race their four tokens from start to finish according to the roll of a single die. Like other cross and circle games, Ludo is derived from the Indian game Pachisi.

How To Play Ludo

Each player rolls a die; The highest roller game starts. Players take a clockwise turn. To enter a token into play from its yard to the starting square, a player must hit a six. Players can draw a token from the house whenever they get a six unless the house is empty or a piece has been moved six times.

Ludo Board Game is played between two to four players. Each player must choose one of the four colors available to play.

The game begins with each player taking turns to roll the die. You have to hit a six to get a token out. You have to get all the tokens out and strategically navigate your way home.

How a player gets turns

A player who rolls a six gains an extra roll. A player who captures an opponent’s token also gets an extra turn.

Occupied squares

If your token lands on a square occupied by an opponent, their token is captured and it goes back to their base and they must roll a six to get it out again. Note that this rule does not apply to squares with stars. There are 4 such squares in the whole Ludo Board Game.

How to Win Ludo

You have to roll the dice and make strategic moves based on the random number you get on the dice. Capture the opponent’s tokens intelligently and outrun them. The first player to take home all the tokens wins the Ludo Board Game.
